Sorry for the long post.

We got to Georgia Wednesday night and got to the hotel. We like to stay in the Drury hotels because of a lot of things so that is where we are staying. We can watch TV, eat the free breakfast with waffles, fruit, granola, juice, eggs, biscuits, etc.. Also, they now serve dinner every night (its called a Kickback). We chose Drury over say Marriott or Sheraton (are those the same?) not only because Drury is cheaper (BTW Lockheed is paying us back for what we spend here) BUT it has more amenities (like a fridge) and the bed is just fine for us (We haven’t acquired a superior taste for designer beds yet).

On Thursday, we had an early start hitting up the apartments. Our first one was at 9:20 and we kept going till about 5:30 viewing about 9 apartments ranging from Norcross, Sandy Springs, and Dunwoody to Kennesaw and Marietta (Staying north of the 407 and east (ish) of the 75 and avoiding the 285 at all cost. We saw some really great looking expensive apartments and some cheapO apartments that were not so good. Some were on our list of apartments to look at that we have been compiling for about 5 months and others just looked really good so we went in. We went home (hotel) at the end of the day with four really good options. We decided on one and slept on it. It’s a really good location on a not so busy street with both of our MUST HAVES (dishwasher and washer/dryer hookups because I decided I do NOT like Laundromats when we were in MS).

We got up on Friday and decided that yes it is the one so we went back and did the application and work verification and now we are just waiting for Tennessee Accent to call us with the decision.

The apartment is nice and in a good location. It is north of Goodlookings future place of employment and his commute is only about 20 minutes and NOT on the 285 (which in some places is 8 lanes wide CRAZZZZYYY!). Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, walk in closets in both bedrooms, plenty of storage and shelving and it is 1107 square feet.

After we did the application, we went up to Kennesaw Mountain. It was a long drive of 5 minutes to the mountain from our apartment and about a mile and a half to get to the top with another 8 minute hike to the very top (so it is more like a big glorified hill). It is a historical place with mounds and a really nice view of everything. I grew up in a place with a lot of mountain and currently live in a place with a lot of mountains so you don’t ever really see the horizon till you go to the beach. BUT, on Kennesaw mountain and a lot of other places East of Texas, you get to see skylines and horizons often.

We then just got to do whatever since what we went there to do was accomplished. We went to the hotel and watched basketball and just did whatever we wanted.

On Saturday, we drove around the area of where we will be living. We found some nice communities that are being built and looked at some model homes. We drove around and saw a lot of rich communities with Large homes. We found some grocery stores and a great college that I don’t get to attend because it doesn’t have my program (which is too bad because it is only about 15 minutes from the apartment and the one that does have my program is about 40 minutes away… maybe I will switch…. Not sure).
