We went to the beach

Long Beach, MS

It was really great to spend just the day at the beach.  It only took 2 1/2 hours to get there and we got there in the morning and got home by 8 or 9.  This is significant because I grew up in Tucson and it is at least 6 hours to the closest ocean view beach.  We had a really good time and got burned good.  We went to Darwell's which was featured on Dinners Drive-inns and Dives a few weeks ago.  It was definately a Dive.

Our footprints in the sand

These jellies washed up on the beach toward the end of the day.  There were a lot of them so we decided to leave because we didn't want any accidents

We got all our stuff where we wanted it then I noticed this nasty little thing smack dab in front of us so Jack moved it with the sand tool we bought.

We both got sun burned.  I got the sun where I wanted it but I got more than I wanted.

We had a great time!

My "Style"

Thanks to my awesome cousin (once again), I have something fun to post about.  Check out this little quiz, it just takes a second and it is fun to look at.

DUCHESS OF DISTINCTION

Your home exudes a predominantly masculine feel, but is nonetheless comfortable, with an air of maturity. You enjoy the good things in life, and that includes the furniture and furnishings you like to have around you. What could look quite conservative is, in fact, seriously sleek.

Bedroom

You're in retro heaven in your bedroom. Sleep is fundamentally important to our well being. Clean, fresh air can truly aid sleep, but so, too, does a well-made bed and the best mattress you can afford. Touch is an important issue in the bedroom, from crisp, linen sheets to wool or even sheepskin underfoot. You show a quirky sense of style in your bedroom, using light, bright colours to create a refreshing retreat that's easy on the eye.

Dining Room

At home, cool, sleek, masculine lines and colours give your dining area that slick, 'stealth wealth' feel. You can avoid it all becoming too clinical through careful use of colour and texture. Avoid harsh primary colours and opt instead for linen napkins in subtle, muted colours, say, or dine by candlelight to add a touch of glamour to evening meals. When it comes to entertaining, you like quite simple (some might say 'peasant') food with big, robust flavours.

Home Office

You have a place for everything and everything has its place. These days, almost all of us have a home office: a desk and a chair in one corner of the living room with adjustable task lighting and adequate filing is all it takes. The modernist adage that form should follow function is nowhere better demonstrated than in the home office: keep things simple and add your own sense of style by using a splash of colour or a single, well-chosen decorative piece.

How to...

Cut up a fresh pineapple

1)  Twist the tip (the green spikes) of the pineapple till it pops off.

2) Cut off both ends of the pineapple

3) Slice of the skin

4) Cut the big chunk of fruit into as many pieces as desired (the more chunks, the smaller they will be)

5) Cut the centers off of the chunks

5B)  I like the centers so I save them in a different container

6) Slice chunks into the size of fruit you desire

Sidenote:: I like grilled pineapple a lot but I don't have a grill so I slapped a slice in a pan and let it sizzle till it doesn't sizzle anymore (you can check every few seconds but it only takes about 45 seconds per side).  I found that I don't like the centers of grilled pineapple so I just threw it away.

ENJOY
I need a new haircut.  Anyone with a good idea should post a comment or something.  I am at a loss for what I should do with my hair.  I am trying to grow it out but I want more layers and for it to be fun and chunky or piecey.  I would like to blow dry and go you know?!

The weekend

My phone hasn't been working so I called verizon and they said that my phone wasn't connecting to the towers.  I guess it was still looking for the Provo tower to connect to because it didn't get the memo about the move.  So, we took a short trip to Alabama to get it fixed.

While we were there, we took a gander at the lake right on the border and we stopped by at the visitor center.  It was pretty cool and I say someone from Tucson, Az.  I liked it for the most part.  We drove through York (I think) and I really liked it.  The architecture was amazing with the wrap around porch and columns BUT we only saw 3 white people plus one family in the 5 minutes we were driving around.

Also, I need a new bathing suit.  All I can find is two pieces and that is not something I will purchase unless I know for sure that I can remain modest and secure around the chest.  Anyone have any good ideas?

I have decided that when we get a home, I want chickens!!  They are so cute as little babies then when they grow up, you get eggs.  Its a pretty good deal... I think.
