Trying Laundry

First attempt at the coin operated laundry downstairs from our apartment failed.  It didn’t just fail, it failed miserably.  I went down there, read the instructions, put the soap in, then the clothes, then the quarters, but the quarters didn’t go in.  I pushed and pushed with all my might but I got no positive results.  I went out into the hallway because there are always people walking around but found only a doctor who was just walking around but did not live here (weird, I know).  So I tried again and decided to go back to my apartment and call the owner.  Again, no positive results.  So I knocked on the neighbors door, nothing.  Another neighbor, she answered and went downstairs with me (one good thing I have found about living here is everyone is so nice…. Except for the girls who served us at pizza hut).  She tried to push the quarters in and got nothing so she looked around for those people who are always lingering and just my luck…… They are nowhere to be seen.  She made some phone calls and the only things I found out was 1) Vallory, like every apartment owner, is hard to get a hold of 2) the laundry costs $2 a load (that stinks) 3)we have really nice neighbors and one of them (the one who helped me) is getting married and moving down the hall to a bigger apartment.

So I decided to get my things and go home defeated and I had put soap in both machines to see if maybe the first one was just broken (obviously, they are both broken).  So I am out two loads of soap and 45 minutes, I don’t know what to do today, I don’t have a car (Good looking took it to work), AND worse of all, IT IS HOT AND HUMID……. AGAIN (shocker).

A LOT has happend

We started on Monday and stayed in Snowflake where we got married.  We stayed in the same Bed n Breakfast that we did when we got married (a different room though).  We drove a long time to get to Amarillo Texas where we stayed again.  We drove for even a longer time and stayed in Jackson MS and we are now in Meridian trying to get into an apartment.
new day
So we can't get into our apartment till monday I think.  So, we wanted to stay at the Drury inn because they are awesome but the whole hotel was FULL!!! ugh!  so we are at the Hampton but we have done laundry and gone swimming at the Hilton because they are better over there.
We went shopping today because I needed a new swim suit and I was in the changing room across the way from a southern woman.  She was making a lot of noise and grunting and huffing while I am out showing goodlooking what I had put on.  She says "ma'am, can you help me?" and she started opening her door.  I thought she was looking for the employed person so I ran back into my changing room.  She still wanted me so I came out.   She said she had had back surgery and needed help out of her dress.  She wanted me to go in her room with her and pull it off of her.  It was really awkward but I think that is how everyone is here.
Everyone is really nice and personal.  Everyone have the accent and they do really say ma'am.  I thought that was a movie thing.  I am enjoying everything except the humidity and not having an apartment yet.  Hopefully, it will get better soon.

The "alarm"

We were packing last night till like...forever... it was late anyway. We finally decided we better go to bed or we would be dead the next day and we have a lot to do today seeing as we are leaving tomorrow. About 4 o'clock this morning, there is this loud, annoying buzzing or "siren" I would call it. It sounded like a natural disaster alarm on all those natural disaster movies. Around 5 I asked Jack if he knew what it was. He said street cleaners....ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! It's 5 in the morning on a day of finals and some idiot decides to sweep the PARKING LOTS. How pointless is that. On a day of finals, when I was in school, I was not looking at the stupid parking lots to see if they were clean. I was so mad. And still am, if you can't tell.

Currently at the Airport

I just spent a crazy (almost) week in Tucson.  I got to see my beautiful new niece and see her blessed.  Other things that I did; painted the hall bathroom, tiled the hall bathroom, went shopping with my mother in law, hung out with my sisters, had a girls night out, went to a soccer game, met some new people, woke up too early because I kept getting confused about what time it was, went to bed way too late because everyone else was awake, had easter at home, and enjoyed all of it.
A long time ago, I painted the hall bathroom and weird bluish green color for my YW project.  I did not know at the time that it was a strange and mostly unliked (by me) color.  So to help my mom out, I painted the walls "cottage white" (a creamy white).  I also finished the wood cupboard under the sink in the same color.  For many years that cupboard only had one door on it.  Now it has both doors and everything in the same color.  The ceiling is white and all the appliances stayed where they were (there was talk about getting a new toilet).  I say that it looks much better and I feel better about fixing it.
I got to go shopping with my mother in law who was in town on business (husbands business, her pleasure).  We went to the mall and I got some things for me and good looking.  We then went to lunch and overall, I had a great time.
Az does not do daylight savings so I got really confused (every morning) about what time it was.  My clock would say 730 but actually, it was 630 or I would think it was 830 and it would be 930... I think that even now, I am still confused.....
I had a really great time and everyone was really good about letting me hold the baby all the time (I didn't even have to change any diapers... it was great!!!).  I got to spend time with everyone and I got to play wii and go to jerry bobs.   It was a great trip!

Do you get internet???

We get terrible internet in the apartment we moved into. We are too cheap to sign up for a contract plus, who knows how long we are going to be in the Provo Bubble anyway. After reading about this on a family member's blog, I have decided that my worries are needless. Thus, I have decided that it is my duty Today, to let you know about it so you too can surf the internet for free. Happy surfing!!
