warning:: short because I am way late remembering everything we did but know that we had a lovely time with everyone::
We left Thursday night and stayed at my aunts house then left early enough and got to Amarillo with not much of a hiccup (except for cutting a tooth). Made some money in Amarillo then continued to Roswell, New Mexico to stay the night. Saturday, we left a bit earlier and made it to Tucson for a late lunch. It was a nice stay in Tucson. Quiet except for kids. Honey narrowly escaped getting pink eye from a cousin. We had birthday cake without her on Sunday (four layer chocolate cake with raspberry filling) because she went to bed early and we had it again on Monday night with her.
GoodLooking took Honey to Pima on Wednesday while my mom and I went to Mesa for haircuts, shopping, and temple lights with my cousins. My hair feels great and my mom looks good! I really enjoyed going to the temple and seeing family.
My family came back to me on Friday (Honey is now officially a year at this point) and we went out to dinner to "the bird". It was very good.
Monday, we prepped for Christmas Eve festivities. We did the nativity, opened gifts, and ate nachos a.k.a. taco salad. Everyone was able to come but some left too early. We needed to get on the road so we left and drove to Pima.
When we got there, we let Honey get out some energy then we all went to bed. GoodLooking and I as per tradition, slept in the loft. I couldn't sleep and thought it was because of comfort so I went down stairs to our bed but to no favorable results because I still didn't sleep very well... I chalk it up to Christmas morning excitement. After opening Santa presents we all got ready and had delicious breakfast.
We had a very nice time in Pima. We were able to all go to the temple together and GoodLooking and I were also able to go by ourselves. It was nice to get to know Mr. Freshman Forty, help mum do some things in the yard, go shooting, play games, and listen to stories. I always enjoy time spent there.

Some Things
Becoming a new mom there are a few things I have learned and things always known but have just now learned.
I am this persons parent. I am not the doctor and the doctor is not the parent. I am with her 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. I know when she is acting weird and I can get a feeling if something is wrong or not completely right or different. I can ask a doctors opinion and I can get a doctors advice on what he/she knows or has experience with but at the end of the day it is my choice and I will try to do what is right. I am raising her not the doctor.
Noise while at first it was bad, now it is good. I worry when there is no noise when I am busy with things and not paying 100% attention to her. It means she has found something interesting that she is otherwise not regularly allowed to play with. Example:: Today I made muffin mix and put it in the pantry. I put it on the second shelf from bottom thinking "the lid is on, it's safe". I go about cleaning the utensils used and she is being very quiet so I enjoy the time to myself. When I finish, I turn around and there she is hands in the container and mix messed about her on the floor. Lesson now learned.

Yeight yeight
Another week closer to Christmas guys.
My mom and dad came to state on Saturday and they came to town after hanging out with my aunt on Monday. GoodLooking came home from work early sicker than he had ever been. That night I was wishing I was dead. GoodLooking stayed home on Tuesday and my mom took care of us. She boiled up a chicken and made good broth and separated the meat form the bones. I bucked up and took her to the antique store to get her some Fiestaware. Then had to sleep all night after a needed blessing. They left on Wednesday morning though. I am sooo thankful that they came but sad that we couldn't be more fun. We were sick the whole time they were here.
We are feeling much better though. The broth was great and the chicken I used to make a lot of sandwiches and today we had chicken noodle soup with the rest of it and the broth.

Kind of the Same
I don't find that my life is very blog worthy lately but here are a few small things of note.
The other day, I bought some cute jeans from walmart (yeah, I know). They looked good in the fitting room (stupid low lit small rooms with skinny mirrors) but when I got home to try them on for GoodLooking it was a different story. I don't know if you have seen it but there is a good Geico commercial with Abe Lincoln involved and it was just like that. I put them on and he made "the face" and I knew he wanted to say something but wasn't quite sure yet how to get it out. Then, I was able to see the backside in a well lit room. The pockets were supper far apart making my now smaller backside look big. Then, Honey laughed (for reals. It was perfect timing)

That upper right drawer was a beast to get open and we found a children's book
yeah.. that is yellow wall paper under the cheap white paint
Strip Tease from a month ago
I am borrowing a sander from a friend and it goes a lot faster than sanding by hand but I have to be really careful I don't take the rippled detailing out of the edge. The dresser is almost done. Just the front with all the ripples and that bottom piece left. I plan to stain it but GoodLooking has other ideas. I am not doing all this work just to paint it.
Honey
Is now over 10 months and only has 2 teeth.
She LOVES mixed vegetables with beef... would eat it every night if I let her.
Loves oatmeal with fruit in it.

Claps, wipes hands together, noggin, waves, and we are teaching her some useful things soon.
loves going through my bathroom drawers, kitchen cabinets, and diaper bag
obsessed with shoes
All legs...and torso...she is just really tall.

Recent Project
I recently came into some furniture from my aunt. A tall dresser, night stand, desk, chair, and floor standing mirror with two legs. I decided it would be Honeys furniture and thought about what I could do to make it more child friendly. I painted it purple and yellow (which happens to be the local high schools colors). It is not done drying at the moment but when it is, it will be placed and I can take pictures.
That project got me thinking that I like refinishing furniture. Yes, it took a long time, and yes a lot of painters tape BUT I think it turned out good (it's not perfect but good). Halfway into the project, GoodLooking found a desk on the side of the road that was in pretty bad shape but it had the makings of a nice piece with some hard work and thought (not TLC because I was not tender and am trying not to fall in love with it). While cleaning it, I found a sticker on the underside and looked it up. It came from a BANK. for realz.
I really like the way it turned out and it is my first refinishing project for sale in my ETSY store. I am revamping the store right now so I won't link to it yet but it is listed for $250. If someone I know is interested in it, we could make a deal.
