Provo

UGH! I am sitting here thinking "I miss Provo!"  but then I think "why do I miss Provo?"

  • the wall of mountains
  • cool weather
  • snow (we did have snow here this year but didn't last as long)
  • close to grandma and grandpas
  • DRY
  • cheaper flights home
  • could drive home in one day
  • living close to BYU meant a lot of cool things to do on campus
  • how eerily quiet it gets during holidays
  • being close to GoodLookings sister (now there are two)
  • did I mention cooler weather and no humidity??
  • Simpler
just to name a few.
But now I live here and I am trying to make the best of it.... Here's to looking for the fast forward button to find fall.

Scotland

I think... this is Wallace... Its at the gates of the Edinburgh Castle

At 1:00 they sound a big cannon... not this one.... a much bigger one.
Us chillin.
The Falkirk Wheel.  It's in Falkirk.  It is a devise planned up to take boaters from one level to the other eliminating lakes.  I probably explained that wrong but if you don't get the idea from that..... this thing rotates and if you want to go up.... you go up... and when you want to go down.... it takes you down.. really slow.

 see what I mean?....
And this is a slide on the playground at the Falkirk Wheel.

 What a Cutie Pie right?

Scotland

Here we have the Wallace Monument.  Really cool!  You climb a narrow staircase and just when you think you can't go any longer there is a stop and you can look around at different stuff.  Then you get back on the stairs and when you think your gonna die, it's another stop.  Then seriously, your legs are gonna fall off, there is another stop.  AND then you get back on the stairs and when you are out of breathe and you think the baby inside you hates you for all this work out.... you are at the top and it is sooooo beautiful!
This cool guy was outside the monument telling the Wallace story.  He did a superb job and has a lot of other really cool stories to tell.
William Wallace had to be a big guy cause his sword (shown above in actual length) is HUGE!
246 steps in all.... Thats roughly 18 flights.... also, see how narrow it is?!
I like this picture a lot.. what a model.
 Handsome!
Everything is sooooo green.  Like a different green than I am used to.... and I live in Georgia.
Us minus photographer eating outside.... If you go to Ediburgh, you GOTTA try GREGGS.  It is a blue section of a strip of shops most of the time and you gotta get a sausage roll, cheese and onion pasty (not pastRy... Pasty) and the yum yums are good!
 cool candy shop
ME... Arizona Sun... Eating Haggis... I know I said I wouldn't but it was fried and GoodLooking insisted.  It didn't taste too bad just the texture was interesting.  I am a texture eater.

Scotland

I am due in December
We are really excited to be moving into the next phase of life.  PARENTHOOD!  For a while I was feeling stuck and like I wasn't progressing through life (this is not the reason we decided to start our family, we have been trying for QUITE a while).  But I am sure this package will help me to mature.
This is us on the top of Pratt's hill.  The tallest point in Edinburgh and it's really cool cause you get a really good panoramic view of the whole city.

It was extremely windy and I was afraid for my life but we made it to the top and we are holding on to that to ensure we do not take the fast way down.

This is us at the Rosslyn Chapel.  If you ever go to Scotland, you MUST go here.  The inside is so ornate and intricately designed out of stone.  It is a shame we couldn't take photos of the inside because it is soooooo cool.  And the story is amazing and YES that movie (I've only seen it once and thought it was weird so I tried to forget it) was filmed at the actual chapel but the store is not real.  When they go downstairs,  they get to the last step then go to a studio... It is just a simple stone room down there.

After we toured the chapel, we went in search of a bridge that lead to the ruins of the home where the family lived that went to that chapel (back in the OLD days, if you wanted to go to heaven, you got your family a church man and you built a chapel for him to pray for you and you paid him I think)

Jack scared me so bad doing that! Doesn't he know he has a little person coming??

And some little sheep being hearded down the road.  So cute!

Scotland

The Aden House is the BnB we stayed at the first two nights.  It was really nice and I am pretty sure the couple that ran it just lived in a separate portion of the house (where they cooked our breakfast).  It was funny cause the first morning, she came out with Clear and Rose plates and after she said it 3 or 4 times we figured it must have meant Klaire and Ross (not that those could or could not have been names of people with us on the trip).
This is Bullers of Buchanan.  It was once a mystical sea cave but it caved in and now its just really cool.  Right above the arch, it was a really narrow walkway and it was really windy and I was really scared I was going to fall in the frigid water.

I think this is the ruins of Slains Castle.  It is free to public and you can run all over it (I don't recommend running see as it is really old).  There was a tower that we climbed to the top (very narrow spiral staircase).

And I think this is Fyvie Castle..... People live there.... Awesome right?!
These are what some people call Highland Coos (or cows) they are so fuzzy and cute!
So then on Monday, we began our treck (long long trip) to Edingurgh.  We stopped at Loch Ness and just checked out the gift shop.  It was raining and cold so we didn't do anything outside really.
On the way out of Loch Ness.
There is a button on my shirt that says "Mommy to Be" nough said I think.  We made that red shirt! It means that she will be an Aunt... (no, I am not showing, I just eat all the time cause it makes the nausea go away)

Photos

This is one of my favorite photos.  I love how clear it is, the different levels, colors, and the textures (and of course GoodLooking:))

I think that everyone should post one of their favorite photos and tell why then send me the link when they have done it.  Either in an email or a comment.
